Housing Development Board

2012-2017

DESCRIPTION:

Working along side SA Chua Architects LD1 was involved in the landscape renovation and public space upgrades at various HDB estates in Yishun, Singapore. Currently, the team is involved in similar renewal programmes in Simei, Towner Road, and Bukit Merah. These projects serve to bring the quality of life in older estates up to current standards and include new facilities such as fitness corners and community gardens, while improving landscaped spaces to increase biodiversity and to utilise low impact stormwater management strategies.

Avida Land

2012-2016

DESCRIPTION:

This 38 ha. residential community is situated on rolling hills overlooking Laguna de Bay south of Metro Manila. LD1 designed the main entrance, streetscapes, pocket parks, and the 3 ha. central community park with a contemporary yet pastoral design approach that responds to both the marketplace criteria and the environmental qualities of the pristine site. The community park contains several vegetation and functional zones for passive and active recreation, using the sloping landform as an organising framework for the arrangement of the zones.

2012 - 2016

DESCRIPTION:

This community of single-family homes is developed on an eight hectare infill site on the Bauan-Batangas Provinical Road. The landscape design consists of the main entrance, streetscapes, pocket parks, and a community park/recreation centre. Of particular challenge was to create a strong sense of arrival to the community through a narrow entrance passage,  solved through green walls at the project boundaries, vertical trees, and a modified road and entrance configuration.

The landscape also utilises drainage swales and rain gardens in comformence with Singapore's ABC Waters planning criteria.

2012 - 2016

DESCRIPTION:

The project consists of a high density mixed-use development of two towers on a podium with ground level retail and streetscapes. LD1 was responsible for all open space design, including the podium level recreational and amenity spaces and ground level entrances and streetscape. Responding to the geometry of the wave-like building facades the landscape forms and structures undulate across the site resulting in an informal and playful pool area and a lushly landscaped street entrance and retail level.

CLIENT:

Avida Land

2012 - 2016

DESCRIPTION:

These residential towers form part of the first phase of South Park District south of Manila. The landscape consists of ground level entrances and retail frontage as well as a podium level recreation space, which includes a swimming pool and water feature, timber deck with sculptural shade structures, children's playground, fitness corner, and event space. The streetside landscape features a multi-storey green wall facing the adjacent central park that forms a screening facade to the facility's carpark.
