CLIENT:
Institute of Mental Health, Singapore
2014
DESCRIPTION:
Land Design One was responsible for the landscape design of IMH's new 4-storey administration building located in Buangkok Medical Park. Built on a highly restricted site the building utilises various terraces and roof gardens to expand its green space, while the ground level incorporates a linear water feature into a central courtyard, providing it with sound and animation. The planting strategy calls for combinations of highly textured and coloured plants to complement and soften the architectural spaces and forms.
CLIENT:
National Parks Board
2014-2016
DESCRIPTION:
Land Design One worked with Zarch Collaboratives and NParks to transform this abandoned "black and white" bungalow into a new research and education centre located in one of Singapore's primary nature reserves. On an existing overgrown site the landscape uses a predominantly native plant palette to create zones moving subtly inward from the surrounding secondary forest through a transitional edge to a colonial styled English cottage garden directly adjacent to the building. It also contains an outdoor work space and gathering/event areas for groups.

Haopy Industries
2015
DESCRIPTION:
This project is the landscape design for a pharmaceutical industrial estate. Using a bamboo forest adapted to the climate of Yunnan Province as the main planting element, it is a place of recreation and health promotion for the factory staff. The design includes gardens, rest spaces, recreation areas and various pathway systems. It also highlights elements of the Japanese garden to fit the bamboo forest, such as Tsukiyama and dry landscape, which become landscape focal points visible from the factories and staff.
